Futaleufu - Torres Combination trips. If you are combining trips in different areas of Chile and Argentina we can find you connections. One example is that you can visit the Futaleufu area by flying from Buenos Aires to Bariloche. After the Futaleufu trip return to Bariloche fly direct to Calafate your pick up sport for a Torres del Paine trip. Afterwards your trekking trip you are dropped off in Punta Arenas Chile and connect back to Santiago. There is not a penalty for open jaw fares in South America. Sometimes they even come out cheaper.
Quick Look:
1. On Saturdays fly from Bariloche to Calafate. Pick up a street taxi and go to your hotel in downtown Calafate which will serve as your trip pick up the following morning.
2. Your trip pick up is at 5:30 am. A pre-paid guided transfer picks you up at your hotel and takes you to the border with Chile. A vehicle will be waiting on the Chilean side, after the border crossing this vehicle will drive you to the park entrance of Torres del Paine. You will change vehicles again and be driven to the eco-camp arriving around 2 pm for lunch. (included in the trip Price for any trip purchases of the route after Nov 1, 2009.)
3. Trip Start: Lunch at eco camp. You will have the afternoon free as the rest of the group coming from Punta Arenas will show up for dinner.
4. Trip Finish: You are driven back to Punta Arenas Airport. Schedule any departure after 5 pm. we can get you there by 4 pm.
5. Connect back to Santiago and fly back to the USA
6. Arrive home.

***July 20, 2009: Argentine Reciprocal visa fee proposal has been indefinitely suspended. A reciprocal visa fee had been proposed by the Argentine governement upon arrival in Buenos Aires Inernational airport. The proposed rates were $131 USD - Americans $159 USD - Canadians; $60 USD - Australians and if it is ever to be approved we are told it will be good for the life of one's passport.
