Bariloche - Trevelin/Private Transfer
For those that enjoy the security of someone meeting you at the Bariloche airport and driving you straight to your hotel in Trevelin, gaining some extra time to relax. If your flight is late no need to worry about connecting with a bus, your driver will wait till your flight arrives. If your flight is scheduled to arrive in Bariloche late in the day you can not go wrong with this route and you can reserve it on this page at the link below. If you are traveling solo you can request (in the form below) for the transport company to try to group you with another solo exchile client to try to share the same ride and cost.
The trip is four hours from the Bariloche Airport to your Hotel in Trevelin and the same in return. The views are gorgeous. The driver will have cell phone contact with our office; this is helpful in case of lost baggage or late flights. You can also take a rest stop half way in the El Bolson artist fair that is scheduled each saturday. The cost for a vehicle that can carry 2-3 pax plus luggage is $275 usd each way. One strategy is on the inbound, reserve a private transfer straight to your hotel, and on the outbound when there is more time, return to Bariloche by the bus.
Custom trips with special itineraries, may arrange private transfers direct from the Bariloche or Esquel airports to the border before it closes at 9 pm, at which point ExChile will pick you up. Private transfers can also be arranged direct from the border (7:00 pm) after your final day of activities for a late evening arrival (11:30 pm) in Bariloche.

Bus Transport
The double decker day buses of this route are much more luxurious and comfortable than buses you may be familiar with; seats are wide and comfortable. The buses could be considered a luxury bus and offer a great view of the mountain and lake scenery on the Bariloche - Esquel Route. Request upper deck seats. This is the route if you are trying to save some money, enjoy the cultural interaction, and have the time after your flight arrives to get to a bus. This is the way the Argentines travel.
Bariloche-Trevelin Route
Bus departures vary but sample departures are: 7:00, 11:30, 11:45, 1:40 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 5:15 pm, 6:30 pm. The bus takes 4.5-hours, and is under $37 USD to get to Esquel. Grab a taxi from the Bariloche airport (20 min) to the Bariloche bus terminal. Upon arrival from Esquel you will take a taxi from the bus station to your hotel in Trevelin (25 minutes).
Trevelin-Bariloche Route
Buses leave Esquel's bus terminal every two hours during the day. Times vary slightly but sample departures are 6:30, 7:00, 7:15, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 12 noon, 2:45 pm, 4:00 pm. The trip takes 4.5-hours, and should be under $37 USD .You would have the hotel call a taxi the night before for transport from your hotel in Trevelin to the bus station in Esquel (25 minutes). You should arrive 20 minutes before your bus departs. Upon arrival in Bariloche grab a taxi from the bus terminal to the airport (20 min).
When to Use Street Taxis:
Taxis are readily available outside of all International and Domestic Airports, as well as bus stations. There is no need for advance reserves, use them for trips under an hour to get between airports, bus stations and to and from your hotel. They are reasonably priced, however always ask the price to your destination before committing. They are recommend to be used if your are traveling between:
Buenos Aires International airport EZE and the National airport AEP.
Between Bariloche Airport and Bariloche Bus Terminal
Between Esquel Bus Terminal and your pre and post trip hotel in Trevelin.

This form allows you to calculate the time it takes to make the connection from the Bariloche airport to the bus terminal and from the Bariloche bus terminal to the airport on the return. Calafate to Torres del Paine /Guided Ground Shuttle
A guided bus shuttle is available for those going on the Torres de Paine W trek with Expediciones Chile from Calafate. This guided bus shuttle can pick you up from your hotel in downtown Calafate at 5:30 am. You must enter the name of your hotel in the trip sign up process so they will know where to pick you up. You will arrive at the Eco Camp in Torres at 2:00 pm for a late lunch. You are automatically buying the ticket at the same time you purchase your trip as an add on to your Torres W trek. The rest of the group will join you coming from Punta Arenas just before dinner.
Inter-Patagonia Bus Routes.
Valdivia Airport-Panguipulli:
Walk out to the highway from the airport with your luggage. Buses to Panguipulli are passing on this route every hour. Flag one done and you have an economical route to Panguipulli.
Puerto Montt-Bariloche Argentina
7-hours, $40 USD Times vary slightly but sample departures are 13:05/ arrival in Bariloche at 22:05. Change bus in Bariloche to Esquel and take a cab to your hotel in Trevlin
Bariloche-Puerto Montt Chile
Get to Bariloche stay over night connect the following morning to Puerto Montt.7-hours, $40 USD Times vary slightly but sample departures are 7:00 am/ arrival in Puerto Montt at 12:00 noon.
Puerto Montt - direct to - Futaleufu: (Purchase from the exchile office)
This is a beautiful but all day ride from Puerto Montt or Osorno over the Andes, through Argentina, and direct to Futaleufu.(13.5 hours during the day). If you have to travel from Chile to get to Futaleufu, this is the most economical and is a very reliable route. This is not a luxury bus and it is how the majority of the people that live in Futaleufu get back and forth to Puerto Montt. These bus tickets can be purchased from our office, for $60 USD. We will confirm before processing all credit cards. The bus operates 4 times a week. Fridays offer the most comfortable bus. The schedules change slightly from month to month. Puerto Montt or Orsorno to Futaleufu is on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays arriving in Futaleufu around 8 pm. The return, Futaleufu to Osorno or Puerto Montt, is on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays. You arrive in Orsorno in time to catch an overnight bus to Santiago. The bus originates in Puerto Montt at the bus station at 6 am, it stops in Osornos bus station at 7:20 for five minutes. Upon confirmation of ticket, we will inform all interested parties of the details related to this purchase. These are not large buses, and they often do not have large signs on them. Never count on getting these tickets on the day of Travel.
Calafate to Puerto Natales (Must be purchased at the bus station in Calafate.)
Buses depart between 7:00 am and 8:00 AM and arrive in Puerto Natales 5 hours later. Tickets are not purchasable online for this route. It would be wise to buy the ticket the day before.

Buses depart between 7:00 am and 8:00 AM and arrive in Calafate 5 hours later. Tickets are not purchasable online for this route. It would be wise to buy the day before.
Puerto Madryn to Esquel:
9 hours, $50 USD Buses depart between 7:00 and 9:00 pm/ arrive in Esquel at 6:30 am. *This is a nice bus but the seats do not go absolutely horizontal.*
Buenos Aires and Santiago to Patagonia/Overnight bus routes
ON the top of the line buses the seats are like first class airlines if not better. We highly recommend Class 1 (Cama Suite). A Class 2 bus (cama ejecutivo) also offers a very comfortable service unseen in the USA. The seats recline to a completely horizontal position and some even have internet. This is a great economical option for those with extra time who are looking to see the countryside, interact with Argentines and enjoy the adventure. The Estación Terminal de Omnibus, sometimes referred to as the Retiro Bus Station Av. Ramos Mejía 1680, is sprawling and enormous, but there is some order with color coding for regions being traveled to. .

Buenos Aires - Bariloche - Esquel Route
Buses depart almost every hour for the overnight ride to Bariloche. However, Super Cama or Cama Suite with the horizontal seats depart three times a day usually around 2:45 to 3 pm. A change of bus in Bariloche and another 4.5 hours brings you to Esquel around 4:30 - 7:30 pm. Take a taxi to your hotel in Trevelin. Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn:
17 hours overnight, $120 USD The best bus (Cama Suite) departs at 8:00 pm/ arrives the next day at 12:00 noon. Take a taxi to your hotel.
Santiago- Osorno- Puerto Montt:
14-hours, $100 USD Overnight bus departing in the evening/ arriving early the next morning in Puerto Montt. Top of the line bus. Tickets are easily purchased online with a credit card but the website is in Spanish. Electronic ticket, ready to print, are sent via email. Bus Norte has Cama Suites and onboard internet. If one wants to connect to Futaleufu the same morning there is another bus departing from Orsorno through Argentina direct to Futaleufu on most week days . This connecting bus ticket reserve can be made through our office. However select a bus from Santiago that arrives in Osorno at or before 7 am. Tickets for this route need to be purchased direct from the bus lines own web site
